The position

You will be part of the ECA, Commodity & Structured Trade Finance team within the Investments Banking Division for EMEA. You will have both a local reporting line to the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Banking as well as an international reporting line to the Executive Director, Head of Structured Trade Finance EMEA. You will be part of the local corporate banking team of 15, and an international corporate banking team of 400-500. You will have a client dealing function with in the team. You will have a travel component to this role, of up to 20%, mostly to other EU markets.

Marketing and arranging European Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) covered transactions, primarily by engaging with exporters in EU markets and countries (including notably, but not limited to German-speaking EU markets) and relevant ECAs, be it for the benefit of borrowers within relevant EU jurisdictions or for the benefit of borrowers in other geographies in EMEA, Asia or the Americas. Marketing and arrangement of inbound ECA deals into EMEA (ECAs covered transactions involving non-EMEA ECAs and for the benefit of EMEA borrowers). Provide support to the ESTF Execution team in London for responsible files during the execution process and, where applicable, for transaction management functions. Contribute to the advancement of business and efficiency initiatives, as required by the management.

Tasks & responsibilities

You will regularly engage with exporters / ECAs / ECA Finance potential borrowers in EU markets, in support of the ESTF Origination team in London and in close coordination with RMs in charge of these counterparts, to identify specific product opportunities primarily in connection with the ECA product in line with the clients’ needs and the objectives. Specific focus on German-speaking EU countries / markets, but not only. You will support the relevant coverage teams and the ESTF Origination team in London in structuring and progressing identified opportunities, including communicating with the exporters, contributing to the production and presentation of deal screening memos and credit applications, taking responsibility for the production of technical sections relating to the ECA product, as well as completing relevant ECA cover applications to ECAs when necessary.

You will contribute to the execution of progressed ESTF transactions, in coordination with the coverage RM and the ESTF Origination and Execution teams in London. You will regularly engage with assigned EU ECAs to keep abreast of their business trends and products offerings, and manage the Bank’s relationship with them. You will do transaction monitoring and client engagement for relevant transactions in the portfolio. You will contribute to the discussions with relevant stakeholders in the various ESTF/ECSTF strategic initiatives assigned for the improvement of efficiency and general business development. You will ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures and build and maintain an internal and external network to gain industry and market knowledge and insights.

Candidate profile

You have advanced knowledge and skills of international finance and specifically working experience in the field of Export Credit Agency Finance. Ideally you have Export Finance ECA experience within a bank. Alternatively you have worked at an Export Credit Agency directly or you’ve handle ECA matters at clients. Essential for the role is that you have a good understanding of both the English and the German language. Other European languages are being considered a plus.

You have a sound understanding of European ECAs financing structures. You are capable of interaction and negotiation with ECAs for approvals, legal formalities. You have experience in coordinating and negotiating legal documentation for European ECAs-backed finance facilities. You have a university degree. Character is important: ambition, motivation, energy level, honesty, autonomy, accountability and intercultural sensitivity. You also have robust negotiation skills, are a strong communicator, have analytical skills and are able to deliver under tight deadlines.

The offer

Our client offers a competitive salary package. The salary for this position will be based on a 38.75 hours working week. You will have a 13th month, a bonus of 20% discretionary, training budget, pension plan and 29 holidays.
