The organization is an international market leader in the fast-growing solar industry. Fuelled by solid financial backing, a unique design, continuous investment in innovation and R&D, they have the ambition to expand / triple its European business over the next three years.

The position

The main objective of the Sales Director Distribution Europe (SDDE) is acquiring and serving Distribution customers in the European markets and in particular France, Spain, Portugal, UK & Ireland, Sweden and Germany. The SDDE will be responsible for dedicated key accounts (including implementation of international contracts over borders) and countries with focus outside the BeNelux. The SDDE will contribute to the overall strategy and leadership of the business unit including sales, marketing, service, project engineering, product management and project management and to build out the organization to enable fast and sustainable revenue growth.

The unit is part of the fast-growing global company family. The SDDE leads an international sales team of 8 FTE and reports to the MD Distribution Europe.

Candidate profile

We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader with a strong drive and strategic mindset. An experienced manager contributing to the commercial success of the company and with a focus to develop the European market, profitable products and services, industry networks and long-term relationships.

The ideal candidate is a “Hunter” who is passionate about building strong customer relationships. He/she is also a ''Coach'' focused on developing the internal team and organisation. The Sales Director is a team player with strong intercultural skills and has experience with high complexity-based organisations and fast expansion of the business.

Ideally the candidate has experience in a technical (solar) business/environment, for example in mounting, inverters, panels, and/or distribution. The Sales Director understands the technical aspects and has the interest to keep developing and comprehend the dynamic environment of the whole solar business.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a Senior Sales role or similar customer-facing function;
  • Solid experience with Distribution Channel Sales;
  • Experience in New Business Development;
  • Proven track record of building strong customer relationships;
  • Established leadership experience (team size 10+) and ability to lead and develop others;
  • Experience with International Sales, specifically Europe;
  • Strong affinity with technical products/sales; preferably with a technical background;
  • Fluent in English & Dutch, both written and spoken;
  • A Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant study is required.
