The position

As a Retail Director you are responsible for the realization of revenue targets and the contract (e.g. data supply) renewals for retail clients & prospects. Revenue consists of all types of services IRI provides. The Retail Director is also responsible for relationship management at adequate levels, including C level, of clients and client satisfaction of his clients.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Stimulate internal behavior to achieve and retain client satisfaction
  • Enlarge trade scope to retain and strengthen market relevance with food retail as cornerstone
  • Expand the retail client portfolio within and outside of the traditional industries (supermarkets, drug, convenience)
  • Maintain and expand client portfolio for collaborative gateways
  • Good understanding of and affinity with technologically advanced solutions for retailers
  • Develop extensive network at mid & senior level, including C level, of clients to strengthen positive relationship
  • Stimulate growth in advanced analytics and shopper marketing services.
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Stimulate accurate pipeline management & reporting
  • Report periodically the results and plans at adequate level for insight for both team & management. 
  • Initiate timely preparation & execution of contract renewals
  • Manage the overview and aggregated results of retail clients
  • Coach Business consultants and Strategic Insights Analysts to achieve their targets and personal growth
  • Active and constructive participation in senior CGD and management meetings.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably CE, BE or Master in Business Administration)
  • At least 10 years of relevant Retail experience and / or retail consultancy experience
  • Proactive and tenacious approach
  • Results-driven and commercial nature
  • Business sensitivity and seniority
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and in English;
  • Consultative selling skills: translate clients’ strategic commercial needs into IRI’s servicing
  • Senior presentation skills
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Effective coach
  • Team manager with the ability to promote and foster strong working relationships across a team, departments, clients and other collaborative agencies
