PR & External Communication Specialist

Robeco has EUR 169 billion in assets under management, of which EUR 161 billion is committed to ESG integration. Currently, their Communications department (9 fte) is developing greatly.

The position

Are you an expert in External Communications and Public Relations? Are you strategically as well as operationally strong in formulating key messages and are you ready for your next move? Then this role would fit you like a glove!

Tasks & responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for external communications and PR: You assess, prepare and manage incoming media questions and interview requests globally, in liaison with internal spokespeople, PR agencies and local Robeco offices.

You write, coordinate and distribute press releases and news items and you will also serve as press contact for follow-up questions from media.

You provide communication advice to the internal stakeholders and identify and develop proactive media opportunities on both product and thematic level (marketing PR).

In this position, you work with a wide range of internal stakeholders, both in Rotterdam and in Robeco offices around the world, to coordinate the external communication activities. This way, you contribute to communication projects in which the media is a stakeholder. You will  report to the Head of Corporate Communications.

Candidate profile

To succeed in the role of PR & External Communication Specialist, you are ought to be results- and output oriented; a self-starter with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset. With your excellent planning, coordination and organizational skills, you have the ability to manage competing priorities and integrate input from multiple stakeholders while working towards deadlines. Your excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without authority makes you a team player and trusted advisor to senior management.

• You have a Bachelors or Master's degree in communications or similar
• Have a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in PR or external communications, topped with experience in or knowledge of the financial industry (preferably the asset management industry)
• You have demonstrable experience creating and delivering communication strategies
• You have strong writing and analytical skills
• You are capable of turning complex matters into clear and convincing messages
• You are fluent in English in speech and writing and understanding of Dutch.
