They have grown into one of the largest independent mechanical and electrical European consulting firms in the building services engineering industry, with over 600 engineers and an annual revenue of € 70 Million. The company focuses on clients, value and quality for the coming years rather than on quarterly EBIT.

The Clean Technology Business Unit delivers solutions for facilities where contamination control is paramount. Their experts have decades of expertise and experience in developing, designing and putting into operation contamination controlled research and manufacturing facilities. Their projects include every type of research and production space, both new and renovated, providing improved efficiencies, flexibility, and people-centered spaces that meet twenty-first century technical standards. Applications for these environments include research and manufacturing facilities in the fields of biosafety containment, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clean health care, microelectronics, nanotechnology, nuclear and solar PV. During the past years the Clean Technology group has rolled out its strategy to become an international designer and consultant in their clean technology market applications.

The position

The Clean Technology Business Unit is a strategic growth activity. In order to benefit from the vast market opportunities and realize the anticipated growth, we search qualified candidates for the position of Manager Clean Technology who delivers strategic leadership and is P&L responsible for the Business Unit. He or she is a member of the Management Team and reports directly to the Managing Director.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead a group of clean technology professionals and accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining staff members; developing, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards;
  • Provide technical direction for the development, design and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through implementation;
  • Expand into new market segments (high end food, bionano-materials, nuclear) both national and international and extend  service portfolio with existing clients;
  • Implement business strategy to grow the business across the region;
  • Take a lead role in the business development process;
  • Maintain and develop client relations;
  • Oversee the execution of projects;
  • Be accountable for budget and financial results.
  • Liaise with other departmental managers to ensure technological and international developments align with the overall firm's goals.
  • Closely cooperate with the assistant manager Clean Technology regarding the operational management of the department.

Candidate profile

  • Extensive experience in managing people with different cultural backgrounds in a dynamic project environment
  • Ability to build and maintain a network of clients and to acquire projects
  • Strong focus on business development and development of staff
  • Expertise in the field of engineering consultancy for buildings
  • Project management experience
  • Academic degree
  • Team player, focused on cooperation with clients and the international offices
  • Fluency in English
