The position

As the Manager Sales you will be responsible for the European Sales team. You manage the European sales organization and you are commercially responsible for Apollo’s results. It is your job to expand Apollo's visibility on the European market. Your focus is mainly on devising and shaping the commercial activities and the necessary structure within the team. Collaboration is the main path to success. Internally you ensure a clear policy, stability and structure. In this way you lift your employees to a higher level of engagement and professionalism. You do not shy away from showing the right exemplary behavior. As a key member of Apollo’s Management Team you report to the Managing Director.

Tasks & responsibilities

Your key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, coach and support the Sales team in developing new and maintaining existing customers and researching and preparing new markets, customers and products.
  • Developing, executing, monitoring and realizing short and long term sales plans, with the aim of creating a commercially excellent organization.
  • Initiate and implement improvement initiatives in line with the strategic direction.
  • Ensure cohesion between Sales and the other disciplines (operations, inside sales, finance, service and spare parts) in order to achieve a good joint result.
  • Leadership based on the principles of honesty, openness and communication.
  • Responsible of sales for important key accounts.

Candidate profile

We are looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, in an ultimately responsible leadership position within a sales department of an e-commerce, warehousing or beverage company. You preferably have completed a relevant HBO+ or (technical) education or have at least the academic working and thinking level. You have a proven track record in sales management and are able to create a winning atmosphere. Furthermore, you are extremely skilled in communication and negotiation and willing to travel internationally.
