The position

In this challenging position as International Sales Manager, your primary goal is to maintain and further develop MAX Europe’s position in the Western European region. As a member of the management team, you have to gain knowledge of each specific country in your region and its potential in order to realize sustainable growth by strategically expanding the pool of customers (distributors and dealers) while at the same time maintaining existing partnerships.

You will furthermore lead your team of sales professionals to achieve strong growth within their dedicated European countries. Your vast strategic sales and management experience combined with your commercial drive will lead you and your team to success. Together with your team you will reach new heights in the European market and help MAX Europe to get closer to their ambition; achieving the highest level of customer loyalty by providing customers with tools to optimize their performance!

Tasks & responsibilities

As a highly experienced International Sales Manager you are responsible for the sales activities and business development of MAX Europe in the Western European region. This challenging role combines a hands-on sales aspect as well as a management aspect. You will focus strongly on realizing commercial growth in the previously mentioned region by understanding the different markets per country and implementing the right strategy for further growth. Your interest in and understanding of different cultures and ways of doing business, is a must to successfully achieve this goal.

You are responsible for the Western European sales team, consisting of one or more dedicated sales professionals per country. Together you will expand MAX Europe’s position in the market and become the preferred supplier in the region. Although the direct customers are dealers and distributors, it’s important to stay connected with the end-users through your sales team. That way MAX Europe is always aware of the demands and developments within the market.

Your eagerness and capability to quickly adapt to different cultures and types of clients, combined with your international commerce experience and sales drive, will provide you with the necessary set of tools to succeed in this exciting position. Furthermore, your hands-on and engaging leadership style stimulates your team of international sales professionals towards durable growth. As part of MAX Europe’s management team, you will share your knowledge of different markets and developments with other members of the management. To achieve the strategic sales and business development goals, it’s important to stimulate and facilitate your sales team so that together you can establish the further growth of MAX Europe’s as an innovative A-brand.

Approximately 50% of your time will be spent abroad visiting (potential) European customers and your sales team. When not on the road, you will primarily work out of a home office. Your direct reporting line will be to the Managing Director.

Candidate profile  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant study
  • Multiple years of relevant international working experience, preferably in the construction sector, and a strategic builder.
  • Perfect leadership and strong sales skills to lead a team of professionals
  • Strong analytical and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) and to work in an international field
  • Strong team player but won’t shy away from taking responsibility
  • Common sense, resolute approach and open minded
  • Perfect knowledge of the English language
