The organisation

A leading global IT Services provider.

The position

The LDT (Large Deals Team) works on the largest and/or most strategic deals within the Benelux and The Nordics, ensuring that resources are shared and large deal governance is adhered to. The LDT shapes and closes deals, and is involved in the business development track in a timely manner. The LDT has ownership for own-led SSE (Strategic Sales Engagements) deals and designated “supervised” deals.

As Head of LDT, he/she manages and closes the deals in LDT and supports Global SSE deals in the Benelux and The Nordics. He/she leads a team of 13 dealmakers and 14 bid managers based in the Benelux and The Nordics. He/she reports directly to the Head of SSE and functionally to the CEO of the Benelux & the Nordics (BTN). The Head of LDT is a member of the BTN Executive Committee.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage and close deals in LDT
  • Support GSSE deals in own GBU (Benelux and The Nordics)
  • Manage deal organisation in LDT
  • Manage virtual extended deal organisation in LDT scope via respective Heads, like Financial Architects and Solution Managers
  • Lead by example (acting as coach and being involved in major deals himself/herself)
  • Participate in customer focus part of the biggest deals, representing the organisation as GBU Executive Committee member
  • Ensure optimal deal resourcing and approach of each deal in scope
  • Resolve escalations/ issues during multiple pursuits; chair GBU management sessions of Large Deals
  • Support/ coach active engagements
  • Ability to inspire team to win and lead by example
  • Manage in- and out-flow, safeguarding the overall capacity and capabilities needed
  • Enable a learning organisation that continuously improves its approach

Candidate profile

As Head of Large Deals Teams, you are client focused and have extensive experience shaping large win-win deals for your clients and the organisation. You are a people manager. You lead by example and inspire your team members and colleagues to achieve shared goals. Further, you are hands-on, open and communicative.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as deal maker or bid director of large deals
  • Proven track record in successfully closing large deals
  • Relevant experience in an international IT services provider preferred
  • Good prioritization and decision making skills
  • Able to interact at CxO level and to represent the organisation as member of the GBU Executive Committee
  • Able to act as focal point within GBU for large deals, to bridge different interests from Markets, Service Lines and general management
  • Able to inspire team members and management to enable winning the deals
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills (Dutch is preferred but not essential)
