Central to our current and future success is a Global Business Services (GBS) capability that is driving greater efficiency, effectiveness, and enhanced customer service levels across areas including Procurement, HR, Finance and IM. As part of this process, the GPO Finance team owns, innovates, designs and drives standardized end-to-end processes and tools.

The Credit Card function is a new role designed to further enable the objectives of the Finance GPO. Within this context, your mission in this role is to assume responsibility for the global credit card framework. This includes driving process definition/changes, process standardization/efficiency, process adherence, new implementations, and KPI reporting.

The position

This full time position is based at the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, but you will travel internationally for approximately 10% of your time.

Your core task is to execute and support the Credit Card Strategy, managing the integration of all involved pillars (People Services, Finance Services and Procurement) to enable end-to-end card management.

This requires you to manage the relation with Citi as card issuer, working with them on simplification and digitalization and increased fraud monitoring of the end-to-end process. You also work closely with GPO’s P2P/Concur, People Services and Procurement on operations, strategy and cards contracts.

Further, you implement robust controls and monitoring tools to ensure compliance e.g. review out of pocket expenditure from expense management system and employees who have not activated their card or used their cards. You also coordinate the card portfolio during acquisition, mergers and divestments, and expand the Card Program across all AkzoNobel countries worldwide.

All of this requires you to develop clear communications on guidelines and policies to employees regarding card usage. Futher, you act as an escalation point for program administrators, following up with Citi as required, and you are responsible for Change Management i.e. EU InterChange regulation project.

On an ongoing basis you review program performance and perform (KPI) reporting internally to the business operations and stakeholders.

Candidate profile

  • Master’s degree in accounting or business administration and 10+ years of experience in Finance/NPR
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
  • Strong ‘can-do’ mentality and ‘the drive' to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of change management
  • Fluent written and spoken English
