The position

What impact will you make?

Your focus on decarbonization helps companies define and achieve their Net Zero or Net Positive objectives. As a Director Decarbonization, you will deliver end-to-end decarbonization support. You will benefit from your expertise and experience in decarbonization strategy and transformations, including understanding of the relevant business and operational impact, change management and financial aspects, when delivering on what’s in the client’s best interest in the context of society’s needs. You will develop and deliver our key decarbonization related service offerings, and work with our ecosystem of industry experts, offering leaders, and external partners to grow our footprint across different industries.

You will be part of our dedicated Consulting Sustainability & Climate team, supporting and guiding our industry and account teams, and working closely with our Risk Advisory, Financial Advisory, Tax & Legal and Audit and Assurance service lines at clients in the Netherlands and our wider Deloitte North and South Europe region.

Candidate profile

You need the following qualifications for the position of Director Decarbonization:

• 10-15 years of experience in professional services, in an ‘engagement leader’ capacity
• at least 8 years of experience in decarbonization related activities
• evidence of operating at a senior level with a broad understanding of decarbonization across industries (including food & agriculture, energy, manufacturing, chemical and financial industry)
• proven experience in working on at least two of the following areas: Net Zero/Positive strategy and (science based) target setting, energy or food system transition plan formulation and implementation, value chain decarbonization, carbon credits experience in managing and delivering large and complex projects a high aptitude for identifying, establishing and maintaining client relationships experience in drafting and delivering proposals and client pitches independently excellent written and oral business communication skills (English), with fluency in Dutch a bonus, not a requirement
