The position

The CFO works closely together with the business leaders and is a member of the finance leadership team. In this position you will be in charge of accounting and reporting of the several holding entities in the Netherlands.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Daily leadership and performance management of the finance team, processes and activities, including the development of strong teams
• Stakeholder management, particularly the Business Controllers in commercial, manufacturing and liaison with the Plant Managers and Managing Directors in The Netherlands
• Maintain strong entity control environment on financial, operational and external business relationships, which require due diligence on legal review of contracts
• Review and deliver promptly critical reporting requirements including internal and external financials of the entity and control over the profitability of the entities including meeting and implementing all tax requirements
• Control over the annual accounts, VAT returns and corporate income tax return for all operating and holding entities
• Coordinate, discuss and resolve observations with internal auditors and external auditors
• Work closely with the Tax and Treasury department, both at HQ and in the Netherlands, on accounting topics including pensions
• Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and propose innovative solutions to operate in a cost-effective manner and deliver quality deliverables on time
• Assess financial impacts of complex projects to the entity. This may include financial supply chain, system implementation and business deals
• Develop a high-performance organization and growth of talents and manage a diverse and inclusive environment

Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance and/ or Accounting
• At least 15 years of demonstrated experience in an accounting or finance role in a corporate environment
• Experience in a “Big Four” environment is a strong plus
• Proven strong people management skills and able to build a high-performance organization
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Dutch GAAP and US GAAP
• Good knowledge of systems (e.g. SAP. Excel. PowerPoint, HFM, BPC, Analytics)
• Knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus
• Ability to influence the main stakeholders in the HQ and in the local environment
• Ability to lead the organization through change and ambiguity
• Outgoing personality, able to build and maintain a relevant network outside the organization
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving skill
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English
• Committed to travel within the country and internationally (low frequency)
