PMI’s products are sold in more than 180 markets. The fabric in Bergen op Zoom produces semi finished products and the supply chain activities are organized for other PMI fabrics.

The position

PM Holland is currently looking for a Business Unit Manager Flavor Processing Center (FPC), based in Bergen op Zoom who will manage and organise all activities to ensure that safety, customer service, quality, productivity, volume, material usage and related cost objectives are achieved or exceeded in alignment with PMI standards and policies. 

Tasks & responsibilities

He/she will make sure adequate management systems and resources are in place and utilized effectively. You will lead, manage and control all manufacturing activities in FPC in order to ensure that volume, customer service, material usage, reject rate, productivity and other manufacturing and supply chain KPI's are met or exceeded. Furthermore you prepare, monitor and control the operational budget for FPC in order to ensure effective personnel, equipment and materials utilization. 

Responsible to follow up on the financial KPI's of FPC and to ensure that deviation from targets are timely identified. You ensure that the PMI QMS (Quality Management System) is effectively in place and all FPC activities and personnel adhere to it. Monitor relevant quality indicators on a constant basis, analyze variances, define and implement best practices and corrective actions in order to ensure that quality standards are always maintained and improved. 

You coordinate and work with the maintenance department to manage all relevant maintenance activities in FPC in order to maximize equipment performance and effective use of equipment and resources. You will lead and manage FPC team, motivate, develop and coach subordinates as key to achieve the best results. Ensure that proper communication tools and means are used in FPC in accordance with the PM Holland communication and employee engagement plan to foster employee involvement, to build awareness on PMI and PMH goals, strategies, values, policies and procedures, and compliance to high ethics standards. 

You are responsible to Lead EHS conscious environment and culture development in line with PMI and PMH EHS policies, procedures and standards. Ensure safe behavioral attitudes within FPC. Implement risk-free and healthy working environment within the own area of responsibility in order to safeguard sustainable legal compliance, avoid accidents, prevent occupational illnesses and losses. You will follow-up and initiate timely corrective / preventive actions to guarantee precise needed transactional and performance data records in all relevant systems and data bases. 

The data is used as a source for legal and business processes performance management and further analysis in order to ensure legal compliance, identification of corrective actions and opportunities for improvement.

Candidate profile

To be a successful Business Unit Manager FPC you hold a Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, Chemical or equivalent. Also you have at least 5 years of working experience within technical production department or a managerial position within other departments. You have a good and proven level of leadership, organizational and coordination skills. 

Dealing with ambiguity, directing and delegating is your strong suit. Besides that you have solid interpersonal skills with a talent for motivating others. You are pro-active and see opportunities where others see barriers. Also you have the courage to challenge the status quo, your peers and direct reports. You are passionate about improvements and have a strong and proven drive for results. Furthermore you are able to operate in an international environment. It is important you are fluent in Dutch and English.
