The position

For their Diegem location, we are looking for a Business Development Manager with interest and experience in the process automation and/or measurement and control technology. Tasks & responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager, you are primarily responsible for realizing new business, particularly within the Chemical- and Terminal Industry. On one hand, you realize this by strategically building and expanding relations with current customers. On the other hand, you realize new business by acquiring new customers. You have experience with Solution Selling: you offer suitable solutions for the prospects’ identified problems. Furthermore, you’ll fulfill the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • You create a sales account plan for your area
  • You are successful in achieving stated sales targets
  • You prepare and execute product presentations
  • You acquire new customers while achieving good margins
  • You guide the entire sales cycle
  • You communicate customer wishes with the concerned departments in the organization

Candidate profile

For Emerson, we are looking for a Business Development Manager who is a real hunter. You are constantly motivated and driven to convert. You are customer-oriented, self-directed, and strategical. Further, you meet the following criteria:

  • At least a completed technical bachelor’s degree (e.g., Process-/Chemical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Electronic Engineering)
  • At least 7 years of sales experience in the Process industry (e.g., Oil & Gas, Chemistry or Refinement)
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Industrial Automation (e.g., Process Management Solutions, DCS, MES, IoT)
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, French is a plus
  • Excellent (product) presentation skills
