The position

Are you an expert in Procurement, data analytics and are you able to secure the connection of Procurement to the Analytics Platform, giving access to a wealth of information? Then you may be the new Analytics Manager!

As an Analytics Manager, you will enable Procurement to work with Vattenfall’s Analytics Platform while improving the solutions we currently have. You will support Procurement and the business with a thorough understanding of the data that we have, with the acquisition of new data and consequently the use of new insights to improve results. And you will be our numbers guru driving the understanding of our Procurement business and driving our value delivery with continuous improvement.

The Analytics Manager will provide Procurement with easily accessible information and insights that will support our staff in their daily responsibilities.

Next to this, we would like to use available and new data to increase predictability of procurement processes and results with new machine learning driven technologies. We continuously aim to increase efficiency and effectiveness of Procurement and the Analytics Manager will help to achieve this via smarter usage of data, the implementation of new solutions that will improve our information and insights, via new solutions and new channels.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Being the SPOC for Finance and IT for the connection of Procurement to the Analytics Platform and for improvements to current solutions.
  • Supporting Procurement on a day-to-day basis with all requests relating to data, information, and insights.
  • Supporting Procurement on a day-to-day basis with all requests relating to dashboards, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives • Support Procurement’s Digital Transformation program with project management of all data related activities and with value management as owner of the business case solution for the program.
  • Work with the data analyst in program and day-to-day business activities and provide guidance and coaching
  • Delivering and driving desired business outcomes
  • Identifying current gaps and omissions and designing solutions for key strategic projects across the business
  • Redesign the Procurement Lab into a steady provider of solutions where new (data) technologies are being applied to solve business problems and create business opportunities
  • Create and execute a roadmap towards eProcurement with self-service and mobile data solutions
  • Create and execute a roadmap towards a predictable Procurement unit by using machine learning technology and solutions to improve our current data landscape and solutions
  • Support the Analytics team in the implementation of the roadmap towards smart analytics and automation
  • Troubleshoot, supporting and escalate database issues and incidents
  • Investigate report scheduling failures and manually create job scheduling.
  • Maintain and update documentation for upcoming Data driven projects
  • Help test new systems and create system documentation and user manuals for reporting tools along with the project team
  • Work together with partner and stakeholders to create a data architecture, and select the right tools to optimize this data landscape incl the tools needed to achieve Procurement goals
  • Support in the development of requested reporting to internal and external stakeholders

Candidate profile

  • You have extensive experience in Procurement and know source-to-contract and procure-to-pay process in detail (including SAP).
  • You speak data language and can translate the information needs of Procurement to requirements for those working with Procurement Data.
  • Your data engineering and science skills are at a high level, and you are an absolute numbers guru driving the understanding and continuous improvement of what Procurement does.
  • You have strong experience executing this in either an Agile way of working or in traditional project management methodologies, are organized, pro-active and results oriented, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Next to this, we ask the following:

  • Minimum of 10/15 years of experience working in a similar Procurement role or in consultancy in which you helped digital transformations of Procurement, systems implementations and/or worked in the data and analytics space for Procurement connecting Procurement units to Analytics platforms, integrating external data sources, and working with cloud-based solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP software (SAP is a must) and Procurement tools in general.
  • Extensive knowledge of the analytics industry, developments in the industry and application of new technologies for (Procurement) Analytics purposes.
  • Analytical (processes) knowledge
  • Energy and Procurement KPIs knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills
  • Exceptional problem solving, and modeling skills with ability to synthesize and analyze data to create useful information and concise analysis.
  • Can work autonomously, to meet tight deadlines, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and develop strong relationships with business leaders
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerBI, QlikView, Python, SQL and/or other analytical tools. The ability to learn, analyze and implement new systems quickly
  • Can work autonomously and with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English
