Tree Energy Solutions (TES) is a fast-growing global green energy company developing giga-scale projects to produce hydrogen-based e-fuels such as e-NG (electric natural gas made from green hydrogen and CO2). As a global pioneer, TES is building new import and production hubs worldwide. Utilizing €140M in recent funding, we accelerate the use of green molecules via existing gas grids, making the transition fast and feasible

The position

• Take full ownership of the day-to-day accounting (A–Z): accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and payroll accounting
• Drive monthly and annual closing processes across entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and deadlines are met
• Coordinate with external advisors for VAT and CIT filings, audits, and statutory accounts
• Partner with the Controlling team to provide high-quality financial data and analysis
• Support the setup and improvement of financial systems and processes (ERP implementation, automation, and standardization)
• Bring structure and reliability to a fast-evolving environment and keep an eye on scalability
• Provide guidance to junior team members and act as a sparring partner to management
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Dutch GAAP, and local tax regulations

Candidate profile

• A hands-on, entrepreneurial accountant who loves both structure and speed
• Proven experience in end-to-end accounting for international entities
• Comfortable working in an evolving environment you see opportunity, not chaos
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, statutory reporting, and tax (VAT/CIT)
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar); strong Excel/automation mindset
• Detail-oriented, but also capable of seeing the bigger financial picture
• Collaborative, proactive, and able to communicate clearly in English and Dutch (German is a plus)
• You don’t wait for systems to be handed to you, you help build them
