Production Manager

The position 

As a Production Manager you will implement the process control system and a control room for the operation of a pilot plant for an innovative new product made of carbon in cooperation with external partners. The first year you will work on building the pilot plant. During building the plant you will monitor construction measures for the installing a pilot plant. Serve as a contact for external companies on the construction site and coordination of production processes.

Besides you will supervision of installation and support during initial commissioning of process engineering plants. You will make independent fault analysis, troubleshooting and process optimization with regard to safety and costs. 

After building the pilot plant you will work as a Production Manager in the plant. That means that you will build your own team of operators. You will ensure a smooth production process while meeting deadlines and product quality requirements. Make analysis of the technical bottlenecks and workflows as well as implement improvement measures. You will coordinate external companies for the maintenance of the plants and report to the Head of Operations.

Candidate profile

• Successfully completed studies in automation engineering, electrical and control engineering or process engineering 
• Several years of experience with working on a construction site in a chemical production environment 
• Extensive know-how in PLC systems of Siemens 
• Understanding of safety and risk mitigation methods 
• Ideally first leadership experience 
• Knowledge on working with SAP systems is a plus 
• Independent and systematic way of working as well as good German and English skills 
• High sense of responsibility for technical, safety and scheduling issues 
• Good communication skills, ability to work in a team and openness to new tasks
