The position

PTTGC International (GC BV) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the team and be a part of the exciting journey in building a European hub for its global portfolio of petrochemical, specialty chemicals, and new technology investments.

Tasks & responsibilities

As an integral part of the Finance & Tax Department team, you'll work closely with the Finance Director to support all financial activities, from day-to-day operations to strategic issues like funding and capital investment. You'll play a key role in monitoring business performance, preparing budgets, and conducting financial risk management, all while ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the board and international team. To be successful in this role, you'll need strong communication skills, and be confident using IT and ERP tools. A hands-on mentality and willingness to support where and when necessary are also essential.
 
The key duties and responsibilities of this position in finance, accounting, and business analysis
areas are:

  • Support the Finance Director in all finance, treasury, accounting and tax activities for GC BV, including strategic issues such as performance review, funding, capital base and investment capital structure, as well as in supporting day-to-day operations;
  • Co-lead the review of business performance and monitor business results of subsidiaries as well as the consolidated impacts to GC BV, and supports effective monthly business performance reviews with representatives from subsidiaries as well as GC BV’s shareholders;
  • Ensure that all financial and managerial accounting reports are regularly and accurately presented to the Board and international team;
  • Manage the formal process of budget preparation, monitoring and tracking system for effective ongoing revision and controlling. Perform effective budget control through variance analysis and executing rolling forecasts;
  • Report on the company’s budget performance versus 5-year business and funding plan;
  • Support in the review and screening of new capital expenditures proposals, including valuations, financial and returns analyses. Work with subsidiaries on screening and clarifying project pipeline for CAPEX-projects;
  • Support in the review and screening of M&A opportunities, whereby working closely with other internal team members and external advisors to ensure all aspects of the transaction are adequately and appropriately addressed;
  • Participate in international project teams and ad hoc analyses, e.g. related to performance-enhancing initiatives;
  • Support in managing of financial risk of the company and subsidiaries e.g. foreign exchange, interest rate and conduct appropriate hedging activities under the company’s policy when needed in order to enhance financial stability.

Candidate profile

  • MSc degree in finance accounting or economics;
  • Fluent in English, speech and writing. Dutch language skills are considered a plus;
  • Experience in audit and/or in FP&A in a complex international environment is a must;
  • Excellent IFRS knowledge ;
  • Good communication skills, able to influence and convince various levels of professionals;
  • Confident with general IT and ERP-tooling;
  • Hands-on building mentality, willing and able to support where and when necessary.

The offer

  • Salary: €90.000 - €100.000 (incl. holiday allowance);
  • Eligibility to participate in Short Term Incentive program;
  • Travel expenses coverage for business trip included;
