Finance Director

The organisation

Azura Search is currently partnered with a leading creative communications agency to source a Finance Director for its Amsterdam entity. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic business which has ambitious plans.

The position

The Finance Director will oversee the financial operation of the business and is central to the commercial performance of the agency. This role will report to the Global CFO.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial finance activities of the Amsterdam entity and ensure the business delivers a healthy gross margin and its monthly profit before tax targets
• Cash management, budgeting and forecasting
• Acting as a right-hand person to the MD, guiding on all financial and leadership decisions
• Leading the commercial relationships with clients, and in partnership with the respective brand leads and involving relevant partners
• Act as an interface with the Global CFO
• Lead and develop a proficient finance team ensuring that they are performing effectively but also have a clear career growth plan for each of them
• Effectively working towards achieving the business transformation ensuring that the aims of the business are achieved 

Candidate profile

• A recognised accounting qualification
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a media or advertising agency in senior finance or commercial finance roles
• Experience of working for a US owned organisation
• Strong cash management, budgeting and forecasting skills
• Extensive experience managing commercial and customer focussed affairs in European markets
• Experience working in organisations that have a global footprint
• Organizational skills, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple assignments as well as prioritizing workloads
• Effective communication with people on all levels
• Flexibility, team player attitude, willingness to pitch in and do anything
