Interim Operations Excellence Manager

The organisation

For an international business undergoing a major operational integration, we are looking for an Interim Operations Excellence Manager. This assignment sits in a dynamic and sensitive environment where different teams, processes, systems and cultures are being brought together, while performance needs to improve immediately.

A key challenge within the business is the recovery of high value assets across Europe. Current recovery levels are too low, which directly affects profitability, pricing flexibility and customer retention. At the same time, processes have not been tightened sufficiently over the years, creating inefficiencies, missed opportunities and a lack of operational discipline. The organisation is therefore looking for an experienced interim professional who can step in quickly, bring structure, improve results and help professionalise the operation.

The position

The Interim Operations Excellence Manager will focus on improving operational performance across Europe, with a strong emphasis on recovery, process optimisation and short term impact. The role combines hands on execution with tactical improvement and requires someone who can identify quick wins while also helping to build a stronger and more future proof operating model.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Improve recovery performance and reduce operational leakage
• Analyse current processes and redesign inefficient ways of working
• Deliver quick wins in planning, collections, follow up and performance management
• Improve data quality, operational visibility and decision making
• Identify synergies across networks, depots and processes
• Strengthen accountability, productivity and performance discipline
• Act as a sparring partner to leadership on priorities, risks and improvement opportunities

Candidate profile

We are looking for a senior interim professional with strong experience in operational excellence, process improvement and performance recovery in complex environments.

You bring:

• A strong track record in improving operations within logistics, supply chain, manufacturing or similar settings
• The ability to quickly analyse root causes and translate them into practical improvements
• Experience operating across operational, tactical and strategic levels
• A hands on and autonomous working style
• Strong analytical skills combined with pragmatism
• The ability to influence stakeholders across functions and regions
• The resilience to operate in a changing and politically sensitive environment

Background

Experience in chemical, industrial or asset intensive environments can be helpful, but is not a must. Relevant backgrounds may include logistics service providers, supply chain organisations, manufacturing, lean environments or other complex operational settings.

Personal fit

You are sharp, credible and action oriented. You are able to move easily between the shop floor and senior management, and you know how to create progress in an environment where speed, ownership and results matter.
