Our client is looking to hire a Lead Architect who will support the Head of IT in translating the Mobile business vision and goals into the IT vision and strategy, as well as technically overseeing the execution of this strategy.

Role and Responsibilities include

  • Defining the target architecture based on business vision and meeting requirements imposed on IT for stability, quality, predictability, time to market, and effective outsourcing
  • Maintaining the evolutionary roadmap from current to target architecture, including identifying problem areas in IT architecture and defining possible solutions
  • Ensuring continuous alignment with changing business requirements and other architectural functions
  • Providing advise to Heads of Business and Head of IT on the most efficient technical way to address. Business requirements based on market and technology trends, whilst keeping a sharp eye on potential business process impact and solutions
  • Keeping up-to-date with the best IT architectural practices in other Telco’s and introducing these practices in the IT environment
  • Re-visit and expand architectural principles based on best industry practices
  • Providing Architectural Governance for all projects and performance improvement initiatives; ensure that solutions implemented are in line with the architectural vision
  • Evaluating impact of various IT projects and changes on overall system, assisting with prioritization and establishing commercial impact
  • Assist business consultants in preparing business cases for making IT changes/improvements and presenting these to the Business at CxO level, outlining benefits and getting buy in
  • Representing IT in Lead Architect Office, leading the IT Architect Office and providing guidance to Design Office, coaching the architect team and acting as a technical guru
  • Representing IT in decision making forums, making sure that IT is heard and listened to, and foster excellent relationships with the Business based on alignment and support of business targets, deep understanding of the Telco business and respect for technical expertise
  • Influencing decision-making in an environment of conflicting business priorities
  • Assisting in setting up the architectural part of demand organization to ensure that of-shoring fits in with roadmap, guidelines, standards

Experience

This Position is of great importance and visibility within the organization and requires a high level of seniority. The position requires:

  • >10 years overall experience of working for major Telco vendor or Operator in the role of solution/lead architect, leading definition, design, delivery and integration of large multi-vendor BSS and enterprise solutions
  • Experience in defining architectural strategy, roadmaps
  • Excellent understanding of typical building blocks of Telco IT environment, their functions and interactions within business processes, as well as typical Telco business processes
  • Excellent understanding of modern Telco Networks and their developments and its interactions with IT environment in service delivery process
  • Understanding and practical experience in working with mission critical applications
  • Commercial awareness and ability to evaluate technical solutions within business context
  • Vendor and subcontractor management experience including requirements definition/RFx, negotiations, project definition and support
  • Experience in dealing at CxO level 

Conditions

€100k (base) plus benefits.
