Working in one of Philips Corporate Staff Departments, you’ll be at the heart of our worldwide company. These departments play a key role in supporting the Royal Philips Electronics Board of Management (BoM). So you may be involved in helping manage the processes and functions core to our operations: Performance Management, Finance, Human Resources, Technology Management, Brand Management, or Information Technology. Whatever your role, you’ll be helping implement BoM decisions, measure our performance, set company-wide standards and drive corporate initiatives. You may be involved in the creation of corporate products as diverse as our Annual Report, our brand image or a high-quality talent pool. But in every case, your activities will touch those of colleagues throughout Philips, as well as customers and stakeholders outside. You, as the Head of Financial Reporting Group (FRG), drive the global consolidation and financial reporting process. This process includes the monthly full reporting of actuals from local ERP systems up to loading, adjusting and consolidating data in the consolidation system BCS/EFR. It also includes retrieval and analysis of financial information from EFR, and creation of management reporting. As such, the process requires contact with various stakeholders, among others ORU Controllers, SBS officers, Infosys staff, Sector F&A teams and various Business Analyst teams. This process also includes the quarterly reporting of forecasts, and annual reporting of strategy review information and budgets (Annual Operating Plan; AOP).

The Head of Financial Reporting Group, at the level of Senior Director, takes ownership of deliverables of the team. The Financial Reporting group is responsible for a timely and high quality consolidation and reporting of the performance of the worldwide Philips group, the Sectors and the Businesses, based upon IFRS. More specific, you are responsible for:

  • Managing a team of 12 financial reporting officers / project managers
  • Consolidation and preparation of the internal and external financial reporting of the Philips Group for the Board of Management, Group Management Committee, Supervisory Board, Sector Management, as well as dealing with ad hoc questions for these stakeholders;
  • Project lead for annual report preparation, and support for the preparation of the quarterly press announcement;
  • Analytical review of the results and reporting thereon, also to support the business analyst group;
  • Supporting the Sectors and Regional and Country Organizations with consolidation issues, accounting aspects and questions with regard to Philips financial IT reporting systems;
  • Prepare and perform review of (draft) finance guidelines;
  • Review adherence of finance guidelines by Sectors and Businesses;
  • Contacts with the external and internal accountant for the total consolidation and Sox compliance thereof;
  • Maintaining contacts inside and outside Corporate Control, like FEN, Sectors, Corporate Functions and SSC / Infosys;
  • Special Projects, like Functional Cost reporting and XBRL implementation.

Requirements 

  • Education in business economics / accountancy
  • Experience in auditing / controlling in high-quality complex – preferably international - organizations 
  • Operational Manager / Hands-on mentality
  • Understanding of IT
  • Recognition in Philips Finance
  • Good communicator in a matrix setting/Networker
  • Understanding of the Philips Finance processes
  • An RA or CPA recognition is a pre
