The organisation

The client is a leading European producer, wholesaler and distributor of a wide range of consumer electronics and accessories (audio/video, cables and connectors, satellite accessories, security and home automation, energy, multimedia, home accessories, lighting). The organization was founded in 1982 and has its headquarters in 's-Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands).

With approximately 350 employees, the company realizes an annual turnover of over 110 million Euros. The company has 12 fully owned subsidiaries, from which some still run their own distribution centres and some are already transformed into sales offices.

The subsidiaries are managed by a "Country Manager". The headquarter in the Netherlands supports the 12 European subsidiaries by finance & administration. Every subsidiary has a local Financial Controller. Since September 2012 the company is part of a Swiss stock listed holding company.

The position

Responsible for the development and performance of all Finance and Controlling activities with the client. Leads and coaches Finance team leader and staff, builds up Business Controlling and supports the CEO and management team of the client with his/her expertise towards the achievement of maximum growth and profit contribution in line with company vision and values. Establishes and implements plans and strategies to provide cost efficient and high-quality services.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Refines and implements the strategy for the Finance & Controlling function of the company in view of the reorganization
  • Builds up Business Controlling processes and expertise within the company
  • Is in the lead of the preparation of forecasts, budgets and business plans according to instructions of the Technical Components Division and the mother holding
  • Monitors and drives the performance and development of staff
  • Has the ultimate responsibility for adequate and orderly accounting as well as preparation of monthly and annual closings in due time according to local GAAP and Swiss-GAAP
  • Has the ultimate responsibility for cash management, liquidity planning and financing in close cooperation with the Division and Corporate Treasury
  • Has the ultimate responsibility for management of all legal, tax and insurance matters
  • Has the ultimate responsibility for implementation and improvement of an adequate ICS
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team

Candidate profile

  • University degree in finance & administration or similar competence acquired by experience or separate courses
  • 5-7 years of experience in finance management. Business Controller with a solid knowledge of accounting
  • Experience in working with different financial programs and software at the same time
  • Experience with implementation of enterprise software solutions (SAP)
  • Experience with working in medium sized, complex international organisations with subsidiaries. Work experience within a corporate (listed) environment is an advantage
  • A corporate mentality is a disadvantage
  • Experience with a trade organization (inventory management)
  • Strong business sense
  • Willingness to travel and work in a multicultural team of professionals
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive Finance & Controlling teams
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, all other European language knowledge would be an asset
