Sanoma Learning & Literature (SLL) is one of the 4 divisions of Sanoma. SLL is an internationally operating division, providing professional products and services in the Learning and the Language businesses. SLL consists of 14 Business Units operating in 14 countries. For this dedicated team of professionals we are looking for a CTO.

The position
To strengthen their Management Board and build further to their solution strategy, we are looking for a CTO who will report directly to the CEO. The CTO is expected to participate in strategy development and manage the operationalisation of the technology components.

Location: ‘s-Hertogenbosch. However frequent travelling within Europe is required (ca. 30%).

Responsibilities

• Development of a clear technology vision (strategy and investment planning) at divisional level.
• Development and operalisation of divisional technology projects together with, accepted and used by the Business Units.
• Building motivated and functional cross-divisional technology teams and stimulating knowledge transfer. 
• Providing of key business information on solutions technology.
• Sparring partner technology/solutions for COO Learning, COO Language Services and Business Units. 
• Build bridges between division and Business Units, and support inter-Business Unit cooperation on technology.
• Establishing links to key new industry partners.
• Assess opportunities and impact of acquisition plans.

Profile 

• University-level degree (technical background).
• At least 5 years management experience at C-level with responsibility for corporate business strategies. 
• Relevant experience in a business environment where content, data and solution management are key: strategy, technology, managing projects, international teams in a changing environment.
• Strategic vision, innovative, persuasiveness, building bonds, cooperational and financial awareness.
• Broad experience in international environment.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written and excellent command of English.
