The organisation

Our client, a global player in B2B and B2C, with production plants, sales & marketing offices all over the world, is looking for a “Manufacturing Director (M/F)”, being strategically and tactically responsible for operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximal efficiency, thus optimizing production levels and driving operational excellence.

The position

Work closely with all stakeholders, regarding technical support and become best in class manufacturing products to satisfy the customer’s expectations. Drive KPI’s across all areas of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain for on time delivery with products meeting the highest quality standards. Continuous Improvement, and Lean Business strategy are key across all manufacturing processes.

Tasks & responsibilities

Strategy and Development

  • Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities in a number of factories in Europe and Far East
  • Create and implement manufacturing best practices in terms of vision, strategy, policies, processes, procedures and business performance
  • Ensure that manufacturing strategies meet business objectives and operational needs
  • Evaluate the manufacturing challenges and develop opportunities within the annual budget
  • Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes

Tasks Management

  • Lead, develop and implement variable cost productivity programs
  • Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class SLA’s
  • Optimize cost performance of the plants and manage ROI’s, working capital and waste reduction in implementing a continuous improvement culture based on lean manufacturing and strategic development
  • Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution
  • Manage master production schedule and operations budgets
  • Be responsible for maintenance activities to meet EHS guidelines
  • Implement reliability engineering processes while identifying best in class maintenance strategies
  • Manage on-time introduction of new products

People Management

  • Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing
  • Be responsible for department objectives and progress and performance programs
  • Establish strong communication channels to facilitate information exchange and implementation procedures and improvements
  • Set standards in accordance with any HSE policy to ensure the safety of staff and visitors

Financials Management

  • Hold responsibility and provide data for manufacturing budgets
  • Prepare the annual manufacturing budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure projects in compliance with legal standards.

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Proactively work with product line management, R&D, engineering and service departments to incorporate best practices
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and reviews
  • Communicate business change impacts on manufacturing projects

Qualifications

  • Higher degree (Master), preferably technically oriented with experience in international engineering/manufacturing or production environments
  • Proven project management and build quality experience
  • Experience in leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing leadership delivering effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and systems
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of automated production processes and manufacturing techniques
