The organisation

Hays Executive is recruiting a Sales Director (Netherlands) for our client Gunnebo, a world leader in products, services and solutions for the security, management and security of banks, shops, CIT, (public) transport, public and commercial buildings and industrial and risky locations. You lead the overall management of the segment to maximise sales profitability and contribution result, while meeting customer expectations.

As part of the Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for overall management of the segment comprised security markets. The role is typically 70/30 balance between operational management responsibilities and strategic leadership. You will lead a sales team of 8 people and report to the Country Manager.

The position

As a Sales Director you have a drive performance management style and you are continuously improving your strategy to improve performance and profitability and growth on revenue, margin and unit contribution.

You develop and perform all Sales & Marketing activities within the core market segment organization implemented and put in place a strategic & operating commercial plan and KPI’s to ensure profitability. To provide leadership, direction and operational management to direct reports, you lead and develop a strong commercial culture.

You develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders (internal and external) including commercial relationships with the client base and negotiate sale terms, contracts and prepare bids with high profile customers. 

Tasks & responsibilities

On top of the above it is your responsibility to set and review financial activity targets and relevant KPI’s with direct reports, and monitor overall segment/business line performance. You implement, develop and control the best practices for project management delivery and build and maintain an effective and motivating team environment.

You are also responsible for full spectrum of people management activities (recruitment, motivation and retention, employee relations (handling escalated disciplinary issues / grievances), conducting appraisals and regular performance discussions, training and development, change and culture). 

Besides that you prepare development plans and identify training needs of team members, convene regular and purposeful sales meetings and produce timely and informative monthly reports including KPI’s, forecasting and market context overview.

Candidate profile

The rightful candidate has minimum 10 + years of experience in a similar role as a Sales Director. You have proven, demonstrable experience of leading a team of sales professionals and knowledge of physical security products and the market.

You have a graduate caliber with a business or related degree, a high degree of commercial awareness and acumen and the ability to manage own P&L and interpret management accounts. Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of CRM systems, excel reporting, micro management process and methodology. 

As a person you are action-oriented with a strong work ethic, are willing and able to drive performance, improve revenue and build the business. Energetic, positive, dynamic and charismatic management style are words that describe you.

You are able to engage, motivate and enthuse staff. Further, you are Dutch native, speak fluently business English, additionally French would be a benefit.
