The position

On behalf of our client, an Integrated Facility Management organization, we are looking for a Chief Financial Officer. In this role you will be expected to provide clear interpretation and analysis of the financial information and business KPI’s to the operational leads to drive revenues, improve efficiencies and identify opportunities. You will be expected to partner your key stakeholders in detailed financial and performance analysis, assisting in bid reviews and modelling exercises and being responsible for identifying and driving out working capital opportunities. Managing balance sheet and cash flow reviews is also an integral part of the role.

Tasks & responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities for Chief Financial Officer will be varied and will include, but not be limited to:

  • Effectively monitor, interpret and challenge financial results and communicate issues, risks, opportunities and trends, performance outlook including competitor activity and market trends to the management team on a timely basis;
  • Report on and ensure integrity and completeness of management information contained in the financial systems of the business;
  • Deliver timely and accurate management accounts and commentaries on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Conduct critical reviews of the performance of the contracts within the business, identifying trends, areas of underperformance and potential opportunities including managing the GP improvement plans;
  • Provide support and analysis to key stakeholders for strategic and operational business decisions;
  • Manage and monitor the contract terms and conditions and contract obligations;
  • Continuously monitor, develop and interpret appropriate and timely KPI’s for the business;
  • Attend management meetings to present and report to key stakeholders as and when required;
  • Understand the performance of the business by client, contract, region and division from lead generation / conception through to tender and completion;
  • Assist with the completion of the company policies and procedures, and also statutory, tax and financial policies and procedures;
  • Effectively work with the business to deliver process improvements and interfaces;
  • Ensure timely completion of all month end procedures with other team members;
  • Promote ownership of budgets to key stakeholders and assist colleagues in preparation and delivery of timely budgets and forecasts;
  • Participate and deliver project initiatives, when necessary;
  • Develop efficient operational processes and controls to meet legal, regulatory requirements and ensure integrity and compliance;
  • Train and educate colleagues in the budgeting and forecasting processes and recommend improvements as necessary;
  • Deliver valued support to internal business customers, building constructive and effective partnerships;
  • Develop close working relationships with key stakeholders to fully understand the business as well as establish a credible and effective network of contacts;
  • Work with internal and external customers, to actively support and initiate teamwork to achieve the greater good;
  • Embrace a collaborative learning culture with your team and the wider business;
  • Ensure that all company communications are cascaded to team members in a timely manner as and when required;
  • Supervise the Contract Management and Financial Optimisation.

Candidate profile

To be considered for the position of CFO you have the following skills and experience:

  • Preferably a master's degree in financial - business economics;
  • Professionally Finance qualified (+10 years) and broad knowledge of operational aspects of finance;
  • Experience in integrated facility services industry is a must;
  • Excellent and inspiring leadership skills;
  • Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate increasing margin, identifying commercial opportunities and reducing working capital in a similar business;
  • Successful in ability to meet deadlines in commercial environment;
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial knowledge that provides value added service to the business;
  • Experienced in collaborating business Directors to drive growth;
  • Strong analytical skills, eye for improvement and optimization;
  • Proactive, can switch quickly in a changing environment and you have a critical work attitude;
  • Feels at home in a dynamic and changing environment, implements changes and knows how to achieve intended objectives;
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch.
