The position

The Head of Formulation will be the scientific lead of an innovation focused company, bringing experience, creativity and focus to a talented team.

Tasks & responsibilities

• working alongside the R&D team to continually improve and expand the SeraNovo formulation platform, playing a significant role in defining R&D strategy and shaping the future of the organisation
• planning/ managing customer projects from early-stage development through GMP scale up
• designing experimental in vitro assay development for analysing and differentiating formulation performance

Candidate profile

We expect the Head of Formulation to have:

• an advanced degree (PhD) with 3-5 years of relevant experience or appropriate Master’s level degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience preferably with the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry performing progressively advanced duties
• solid and established formulation reputation through formulation accomplishments directed towards enhancing oral bioavailability along with broad knowledge of method development such as: dissolution analysis, Polymer screening/ selection, solubility analysis, stability analysis UPLC (Waters), DSC, TGA and LC-MS
• strong knowledge of guidelines and regulations FDA and ICH
• previous experience in leading and managing teams and managing multiple projects concurrently, ideally in small biotech-start-ups

• a creative problem solver mindset along with a proactive and hands-on attitude
• strong organisational and time/project management skills along with a proven ability to work in team
• outstanding planning, communication and collaboration skills including leading teams with cross-functional scope
• excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
