Tax Analysts is a team of inquisitive and provocative tax experts — award-winning journalists, lawyers, accountants, and economists — committed to producing the most accurate, timely, and thorough tax coverage. We are the premier outlet for high-quality tax news and commentary and are committed to improving the transparency of tax systems by covering issues the mainstream press does not and aggressively using the Freedom of Information Act to uncover documents addressing issues of tax policy and administration.

The position

Tax Analysts is a nonprofit and exclusive publisher of news and commentary on federal, state, and international tax issues under the brand Tax Notes. Our ambition and reason for expanding into the Netherlands is to grow our impact in the EU tax area to match that of our impact in the US. This will also help us lighten the load our EU customers face, ensuring that they can stay completely focused on their core activities!

Our customers in Europe will be spending less time on tax research and more time on what is truly important for their business. Over the long term, we expect to set up a full editorial house in the EU. In doing so, we offer all our partners support in terms of tax issues, fiscal policy and administration.

Your mission is to build and lead a European class sales team virtually from scratch, relentlessly focusing on growing the number of businesses that use the Tax Analysts platform. You will support the current clients of Tax Analysts in the EU and use your advisory skills to convince them of the added value that Tax Analysts can offer them!

What you will have achieved after one year: an increase in exposure with significant growth in our European user base. In order to achieve this, you will have become familiar with the products and the market of Tax Analysts. You will analyse the market, competition and draw up a market strategy, tailored to your (potential) clients. You will be engaged on a day-to-day basis in building and strengthening your customer relationships and optimising your product knowledge. Leading from the front, you will build a high performing team, coach and mentor them to success, localise the sales playbook and own the P&L in your assigned territory.

You have the ability to act as the primary conduit between the head office teams in USA and display strong communication skills. You are able to challenge all parties involved and are passionate about delivering the best when it comes to sales.

In doing so, you will contribute to the goal of achieving the same level of success and impact in Europe as we have in America!

Tasks & responsibilities

After a comprehensive onboarding process, you will be ready to stand on your own two feet!

You will start by drawing up an extensive market strategy and then immediately get to work on it. Through your sales experience, you know exactly how to best approach the continual development of partnerships! You ensure visibility in the market, so that both current as well as potential customers always know where to find you and your team. The focus here is on multinationals, tax advisory services, government, universities and institutes. Thanks to your genuine interest in people and organisations, you act as their ultimate sparring partner and are able to convince them of the added value that Tax Analyst brings.

Another important focus for you is on internal organisation – growing the team in order to meet market demand. You are the coach, the inspiring leader. You create a safe haven for your team. Your team can always turn to you for help! But continued development, adjustment and implementation of the market strategy, growth objectives and product and user feedback also all play an important role. Based on your expertise and experience, you have a clear vision for the future. You know what Tax Analyst needs to do to achieve the goals set. Through your open attitude and enthusiasm, you know how to get the rest of the organisation on board.

Candidate profile

  • Independent people manager, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • BA/BS Degree in TAX/Accounting
  • Experience in B2B SaaS sales/solutions is a plus
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel
