The organisation

Reaktor is a strategic partner for forward-thinking companies, offering design and technology solutions. Founded 20 years ago in Helsinki, Reaktor is now a globally operating company with 7 offices and >600 employees. With a history of having their pick of interesting projects regardless of industry or sector, Reaktor only recently decided to start building dedicated verticals. The first proof of concept is the Healthcare business unit. Started in 2021, this new BU is already active in the Nordics with a yearly revenue of just under EUR 10 million. The goal is to triple that within the next 5 years by expanding into Western Europe.

The focus of Reaktor Health is on private healthcare providers looking to innovate and improve patient interactions via digital services. This may include, for instance, appointment bookings, result visibility, or online consultations. Aside from building tailor-made platforms to provide such services, more disruptive or experimental projects are also within the realm of possibilities. Personalized care is the key phrase here: In the healthcare domain, there is a lot to gain from unlocking data for patients’ benefit, a better patient journey, and ultimately improved health outcomes.

The position

Reaktor builds digital solutions for innovative businesses worldwide. Out of its Helsinki home base, the company has recently started its first industry vertical, focused on healthcare. The New Business Developer Health will ensure a solid stream of new business and long-term client relations in Western Europe for this vertical.

Tasks & responsibilities

The New Business Developer Health holds the keys to Reaktor’s new success story: a high-performing industry vertical with clear presence in the Nordics and Western Europe. The New Business Developer Health will work together with the Strategy Director and the Business Director of Reaktor Health to define the strategy for breaking into this market, including a choice of first wave countries to start building the business. From there, it will be up to the New Business Developer Health to build a pipeline and close deals. The New Business Developer Health will secure sales via direct outreach through calls, correspondence and face-to-face interactions. The focus should be on long-term client relations, with whom Reaktor can partner for several years and ideally work on multiple consecutive projects that truly support and spur on the client’s strategy. To achieve this, there will be a strong focus on consultative selling – assisting the customer every step of the way to ensure client satisfaction and successful onboarding of the project teams. The New Business Developer Health will also capture and feed insights into the team to help develop its service offering and the overall business strategy.

Aside from identifying opportunities, building relationships and closing deals, the operational responsibilities of the New Business Developer Health will consist of systematically assessing fit and viability of new client conversations; working with the team to undertake market research and analysis; managing the creation of proposals; and owning data collection, analysis, and reporting. After closing a deal, the New Business Developer Health is also responsible for managing a successful transition to the delivery team and accountmanager.

The New Business Developer Health will also coach and support colleagues to become experts in the healthcare field, and operate as a thought leader and influencer within this vertical. The New Business Developer Health will also continuously contribute to the strategic direction, establishing near-term and long-term goals for the BU together with the Strategy and Business Directors.

Candidate profile

This role contains a lot of freedom to explore international commercial opportunities and prove one’s talent and skill as a consultative sales leader. The ideal candidate has a solid background of 7+ years in both consultative selling – where tight project management and long-term client relations are key – and the healthcare and/or pharma sector. They are a good fit with Reaktor’s non-hierarchical work environment and are energized by frequent, high-quality interactions with (potential) clients as well as the internal Reaktor Health team, currently consisting of 7 core team members and >50 design and technology experts working on client projects. The New Business Developer Health is excited to crack the challenge of building new business in a highly regulated yet differentiated market, where each country operates per different rules and systems and where the introduction of online design and technology solutions can be a game changer.
