Head of Accounting & Financial Report Europe

The organisation

Our Client is an international dynamic company, implementing the Finance structure with an ambitious and committed Head of Accounting (US-Gaap) and Financial Reporting for the European region.

The position

The purpose of this job is to drive financially decisions that are consistent with the strategies, the management priorities and more generally the interest of the company targets.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Develops and directs a productive finance team by hiring, training and leading qualified people, utilizing effective communication and motivational techniques, providing ongoing performance management, rewarding higher levels of performance and provide effective training, development, and succession planning;
• Directs the preparation and analysis of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise accounting results in terms of profitability, performance against budgets/forecasts, and other matters affecting the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company;
• Directs and manages financial analysis projects required to improve global systems and processes;
• Directs and oversees all internal and external financial reporting to ensure accurate and reliable reporting of the company's financial condition and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures;
• Establishes and implements financial policies, control standards, and corporate budgetary control systems, and drives continuous improvement efforts, to ensure seamless and accurate flow of data, enhance productivity and reduce internal costs;
• Supports mergers and acquisitions from the beginning of the due diligence work to the final successful integration.

Candidate profile

• The position requires a University degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting plus a CPA or European equivalent.
• A minimum of 8+ years of related experience is required including experience in accounting, finance, payroll, and general management. Prior public accounting experience with a larger firm and M&A Acquisition a plus, especially in financial reporting to a US Parent, succeeded in leading and supervising teams and attracting talent;
• Working knowledge US GAAP;
• Ability to interpret complex accounting issues and apply technical guidance;
• Business, managerial, leadership and strategic thinking skills for planning and managing department, staff, budgets and projects;
• Ability to work and report within a multinational and multi-subsidiary organization;
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and preferably another European language;
• Working proficiency of the personal computer and computer tools including Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Excel, Word, Power Point, Databases, and general ledger software.
