The Company

Our Client, located in the Middle-East, is looking to recruit a Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will be primarily responsible for the overall financial performance and contribute positively to the development and achievement of the company's strategic objectives. Our client is representing many Fortune 500 brands in FMCG, Durables, IT and Architecture in Middle East, and is positioned as the ultimate gateway to Retail, Healthcare, Hospitality and Real estate in the commercial domain.

The Position

The Group CFO will be able to provide clear leadership in the financial and strategic performance and positioning of the group's activities and advisory to the CEO. This role will grant an excellent opportunity for the entrepreneurial and operationally-oriented executive with solid financial skills as well as a hands-on mentality to take his or her career to the level. The next generation CFO should take the lead to act as a true business partner in the innovation roadmap of the group into new business models, new operating models, additional go-to-market strategies (e.g. digital).

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead towards achieving group results according business performance, revenue and profitability growth
  • Responsible for a long term Business Plan using recognized methodology and obtain together with the counterparts Board approval and implement the approved annual plan
  • Increase organizational capability through training, coaching and development of direct reports in the areas of business planning, pricing/tender strategies, customer negotiations and legal documentation.
  • Maintain, update and report the group's overall budget and financial performance to the Board
  • Be responsible for all legal entity statutory requirements, support financial and tax audits
  • Review the compliance with regulations to ensure smooth repatriation of funds
  • Identify key financial risks for the group and focus on risk management.
  • Monitor the implementation of appropriate internal controls and processes for the finance function
  • Work on tax optimization for the whole group with relevant in-house / external advisors
  • Optimize the group's overall resources through different financial structuring mechanisms
  • Deal with external experts and ensure good working relationships with banks and other stakeholders
  • Manage the group working capital and capital expenditure levels
  • Support drive key strategic initiatives of competency-building, profitable retail expansion, service excellence and business development of synergistic nature capitalizing on the existing finance structure.
  • Activation, contributing and leading of strategic innovation processes with financial model implications.

Candidate profile

  • Masters degree in Business Economics or Accounting & Control (RC, RA and / or MBA)
  • Minimum of 15 years of financial experience, with a clear track record of stable employment, career growth and achievement in supporting a significant corporate mission
  • Proven track record in international organisations, preferably with Multi-National operating in mature Middle East Markets
  • Strong working knowledge of local and International GAAP / IFRS
  • Experience implementing and improving internal control
  • Relevant experience in supporting both commercial and financial aspects Strong work ethic and leadership skills with a high level of integrity
  • Fluent in English. Other languages such as Arabic and French are preferred

Willing to relocate to the Middle-East (Qatar/Doha) for a minimum of seven years period.

Terms & conditions

We offer a total package which includes salary, housing allowance, transport allowance and mobile excluding annual incentives bonus based on performance.
