The position

As CFO you are a key member of the board, will act as a strategic sparring partner towards the executive team and will report directly to the CEO.

In this operational orientated role you will be responsible for all financial and compliance aspects and will drive continuous growth and profitability. Together with the finance teams in the subsidiaries you will redefine the financial processes, systems and infrastructure and ensure all is aligned to increase group performance and to reduce cost. Furthermore you will be evaluating potential M&A opportunities and enhancing best practices within the group to support future growth.

In this challenging and international role you will work closely together with the shareholders, nonexecutive board and directors regarding a broad range of topics including PE, contingency planning and business control. You will review performance and progress on a regular basis to ensure growth and will test the teams to see if the goals are challenging enough.

Together with the board you will train, manage and give insights to the business teams on financial and compliance related topics and will improve the overall financial operations management to ensure stronger operational capabilities and more internal discipline around the metrics.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • End-responsible for the organisations financial aspects incl. systems and infrastructure
  • Partner with the executive team and board, contributing to both organic and strategic growth
  • Providing advice to the executive team in order to ensure informed financial- and operational decisions
  • Drive M&A including valuation, analysis, due diligence, negotiations and post-merger integration
  • Optimize and align processes, procedures, financial models and reports within the different OPCO’s
  • Manage, coach and develop to the finance teams to ensure stronger operational finance capabilities and succession planning
  • Ensure efficient and timely management, analysis, forecasting and reporting of cash, cash flow and financial results
  • Work effectively across the organization to research variances, understand trends and incorporate new information for budget and preventive purposes
  • Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting data, performing monthly variance analysis, investment summaries and completing ad hoc analyses to cross reference with key metrics used to pin-point potential errors
  • Market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
  • Ensuring that company financial reporting and policies are in accordance with GAAP (as well as IFRS to a lesser extent)
  • Improve overall profitability by continuous improvement and the increase of mid- and long term productivity.

Candidate profile

  • Experienced in an end-responsible position with at least 10 years of working experience in an international setting
  • Experience in complex software / software licencing / SaaS or other relevant technology and subscription driven business is being preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experienced in M&A, PE and/or dept financing
  • Hands-on and able to provide accurate high-quality yet practical analysis and advice
  • Confident and professional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Energetic, pragmatic and valued speaker in shareholder meetings
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
