Our client has created the largest and strongest consortium in the field of raw materials. Our client cooperates with more than 100 partners, such as industry leaders, research centers and universities from over 20 EU member states.
The aim of this consortium is to increase the competitiveness, growth and attractiveness of the European raw material sector. This process is underpinned by intensive innovation and entrepreneurship. The start-up phase of this rather new company has been initiated and interim management teams have started their work in January 2015.
Michael Page is assigned to set up the complete senior management of this incubator, starting with the Chief Executive Officer (m/f) located in Berlin.

Position

• Lead the operations following the guidance and advice of the Executive Board
• In charge of the overall operations and management of the company
• Responsible for the annual business plan and developing the long-term strategic business plan
• Chairs the Management Team and the Advisory Board of CLC Managers
• Represents EIT Raw Materials formally at the highest level.
• Line manager of CFO, CEduO, COO, CMO, CLCMs

Profil

• The CEO has a proven track record in industry/business, in top level management, business development and R&D or innovation positions
• The successful candidate has a passion for innovation and for integrating the Knowledge Triangle, is experienced in strategic and business planning, in project and people management in an international context, and has a strong capacity for building alliances between industry, public sector, research experts and other innovation stakeholders
• He/she is a visionary leader who can both set a vision and rally others around its achievement, possesses an analytical mind, and is strong in critical reasoning and problem-solving skills
• The CEO has a minimum 10 years of experience in a related field such as General Manager of a KMU
• Resourceful, with strong analytical skills required for researching, interpreting and evaluating results and developing alternative solutions
• Strong (quantitative) problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent written, oral, listening and presentation communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and consultants
• Strong interpersonal skills to influence, convince, motivate and mentor various groups or individuals
• Positive, encouraging style, personality and approach
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
• Self-motivated with very good organizational and time management skills
• Proficient IT skills
• Sound knowledge an deep interest in innovation and industrial matters
• Fluent in German and English; any additional language would be a benefit
