The organization

Our client is a market leader within its niche in the Big Data & Analytics software industry and one of the fastest growing tech start-ups worldwide. The company (100+ fte) operates internationally and has offices in the US, Germany and the Netherlands. 

The position

Part of the Benelux sales team in the centre of the Netherlands, the Account Executive will be responsible for the design, planning and execution of all sales-related activities within the direct sales channel. In order to reach the sales objectives, the Account Executive is supported by Pre-Sales and Inside Sales. The target customer group will be mid-sized and large companies of up to 10.000 employees in the Benelux region.

We are looking for a high potential Account Executive who enjoys working in a highly educated and young team within a start-up environment. He/She is expected to have a strong and persistent sales drive; someone who opens doors, creates solutions for the client and closes the deals.

Candidate profile

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or Mathematics, ideally Master’s degree.
  • 4 to 10 years of working experience of which at least 2 years of directly selling big data analytics software or related.
  • Good understanding of IT solutions as well as design & implementation of IT products. Familiarity with both of on-premise and SaaS/Cloud solutions is considered a plus.
  • Track record in managing large customer portfolios, preferably from a specific target industry.
  • Experience with sales cycles of approx. six months.
  • Familiar with talking to process owners like CFO and/or COO and experience in negotiating with purchasing and dealing with legal representatives.
  • Familiar with license models and ideally experience with sales of professional services.
  • Strong intrinsic motivation and a self-starter mentality.
  • Able to communicate and present on executive, management and staff level.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch, both verbal and written. Fluency in an additional European language is considered a plus.
