Plant Controller

The organisation

For one of our clients we are currently looking for a highly well-rounded Plant Controller, to be based in the Rotterdam area, the Netherlands. The manufacturing plant with its 100+ employees in a.o. engineering, production, product management and logistics, is part of a large international group with 80.000+ employees.

The position

The Plant Controller takes on a broad finance role being responsible for Accounting, Financial, Cost and Business Controlling, Budgeting, Risk and Treasury as well as group and statutory reporting according to GAAP and IFRS, and communication with auditors and tax authorities. He/She will lead or participate in finance or business related projects and evaluate business cases.

The position leads a small team of finance professionals varying from fairly young to really experienced. Overall, there is room for improvement in the performance of the finance team, which requires leadership competencies, change management skills, drive and guidance from the Plant Controller. A significant focus will be on the digitalization and continuous improvement of processes. The Plant Controller reports directly into the Finance Director, acts as a reliable right-hand and takes seat in the Management Team of the entity.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a financial discipline
• Minimum 8 years’ of experience in a financial role of which at least 4 years in an international group/organization, practiced in both accounting and controlling
• At least 5 years of experience in leading a (project) team
• Profound IT skills and strong knowledge in ERP software
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus, affinity is a must
• Fluent in English. Proficient in Dutch. Excellent communication skills
• Analytical, able to get to the core of a problem easily
• Eye for detail with losing sight on larger picture and the helicopter view
• Initiates, drives change and continuous improvement
• Team-oriented leader, able to and loves to develop, guide and coach people
