In The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), architecture has a number of meanings. It is either a formal description or detailed plan of a system, as well as the structure of components, their inter-relationships, and the principles and guidelines governing their design and evolution. The scope of both IT and enterprise architecture covers technical, information and business architecture.

Shell is currently looking to recruit a Solutions Architect to join the organisation in The Hague, Netherlands.

Functieomschrijving:

As a Solutions Architect, you'lI contribute interpretative or advisory services to colleagues who control the scope of projects with a value of between US$ 100 to 550 million, share accountability for projects in the range US$ 15 to 40 million, and take full responsibility for projects worth between US$ 5.5 to 15 million.

Shell will expect you to maintain in-depth knowledge of a specific aspect or domain of IT architecture, and provide well-informed advice, ensuring it is properly understood, appropriately exploited, and enhances the effectiveness of significant activities.

You'lI be part of IT Projects and be accountable for the information and technical architecture elements of the solution architecture development for projects. You'lI then be required to ensure that this architecture is correctly applied.

Eisen:

With substantial professional experience of the planning and development of technology roadmaps or design, development and delivery of IT-enabled business solutions or managing service IT portfolio in one of Shell businesses, you'll have the skill to carry out architecture engagements independently, where influencing, developing and motivating people is critical to their success.

This role has a broad scope and covers all domains, and involves working as part of IT projects and developing all the elements of solutions architecture - including business, information and technical - for a range of projects. Once developed, you'lI then monitor implementation and verify that the design is in line with the original architecture. With this in mind, Shell will expect you to have knowledge and understanding of:

o Project architecture
o Data modeling
o Project solutions
o The combination of information and technical architecture for a project
o Architecture development for a project
o The relationship between information and technical architects.
