Job Description

Kraton Polymers is intending to become a key supplier in select new markets. Current applications either use Kraton polymers as a major ingredient to impart elasticity and flexibility or as a minor ingredient to provide impact or compatibility. In order to further penetrate the market and develop high value added solutions to serve broader customer bases, we are looking for an individual that can lead the market development effort in our new Nexar polymers market area to achieve sustainable and profitable opportunity and growth.

The individual is expected to:

  • Develop in-depth understanding of our sulfonated copolymer technology and the potential fit in industry (water filtration, air filtration, nonwovens, & textiles)
  • Interact with R&D and manufacturing in Kraton organizations to facilitate new product development
  • Work with Nexar Platform Manager in the US to develop a cohesive regional market strategy tying together with our overall global ambitions
  • Identify potential synergies with business partners, out of the box solutions and game-change strategies
  • Articulate the value proposition of what we have, how to develop it, and with whom, in the currently focused market segments-Water Management, Air Filtration, and Performance Fabrics
  • Identify wants and needs within the target industries by market applications and key customers. Identify growth markets and create opportunities
  • Identify and establish key accounts and/or partners in the value chain that could validate and commercialize products.
  • To bring focus, prioritizing the opportunities, develop project plans
  • Assist in the development of a marcom strategy for Kraton's Nexar product offering for EMEA
  • Develop value based pricing and supply strategy
  • Lead the development of a commercial team for the EMEA-area.
  • Achieve commercial sales at targeted margins

Requirements
 

  • Minimum 10 years international business development experience in B2B
  • Academic background, preferably a Msc. Advanced degrees in polymer science are a plus.
  • Knowledge of plastics and polymer products, membrane markets and/or value chain of targeted industries
  • Fluent in English, German and/or French
  • Enterpreneurial/greenfield attitude with strong communication and sales skill
  • Team player,with integrity and perseverance
  • Highly organized, disciplined and result orientated
