Directly managing a small team of staff, the role will offer the opportunity to influence the approach taken by SIA to deliver its objectives. It will require someone who can clearly communicate with senior staff and auditors around the world to help the consistent application of theory in a wide range of practical scenarios.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the universe owners in the development of the annual audit plan and universe
  • Provide methodology communication on updates and issues
  • Oversee the development of best practice examples and guidance
  • Liaise with Shell standard setters on new guidance and standards that are relevant to SIA auditors
  • Provide specific guidance to SIA staff on relevant topics such as SOX.

Requirements:

As a qualified accountant with a CPA, ACA, RA or equivalent, you’ll have excellent auditing and accounting skills built on substantial experience of external or internal audits.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities are essential, while experience of developing or delivering training would be an advantage. You’ll also have first-class interpersonal skills and be able to calmly and clearly communicate and influence throughout the businesses, at all levels in the organisation and with staff from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Your personal integrity and professionalism will be key to maintaining an independent attitude and delivering quality audits, and with strong analytical and financial skills, you’ll be able to identify cause-effect relationships, patterns, implications of data, and integrate the pieces into a meaningful whole.
