The position

This position will be part of the Treasury Team and be responsible for the design, development and delivery of payment solutions and systems that support the needs of our client across all its business channels. This person will require to have detailed knowledge of business processes as well as trending and emerging technology/solutions related to payments processing.

Key deliveries will include acting as a subject matter expert around the introduction and operational management of new payment methods, working with internal technical teams to define and implement our client’s payment strategies whilst also providing input into its existing payments processes.

You will have deep insight on the technical and architectural engineering of third-party payments’ and e-commerce systems, interact closely with external strategic partners (i.e. PSP’s) and apply industry leading best practices to enhance the consumer experience and payment processing set up.

Ability to effectively manage system enhancements, research & deliver complex business requirements followed by delivery of robust operational processes is a prerequisite for this role. You will have a strong innovative and multi-functional outlook and understand the benefits and impacts for the business and the consumers of any change or implementation related to our payment infrastructure.

In this position, your input will be crucial to help drive expansion of our client’s most innovative and exciting payment products and services.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead the technical architecture, design, development and delivery of payment processing and systems
  • Maximize the utility of the current payment system and platforms
  • Collaborate with the technical and business teams to develop and manage the payment systems’ strategies and roadmap for B2B and B2C activities
  • Analyze new and emerging technologies and drives the organizational shifts to implement new technologies as appropriate
  • Partner with IT / SAP teams to ensure extensibility and supportability of our client’s payments platforms
  • Direct and participate in cross-functional delivery of large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents
  • Plan and manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost and quality parameters
  • Effectively resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur, consistently following through on details while driving innovation as well as issue resolution; identifies risks related to payments’ architecture and drives their mitigation
  • Manage relationships and lead contract negotiations with payment service providers; define partnership needs; lead efforts to identify and evaluate new prospective partners; contract with partners and oversee implementation
  • Serve as the primary liaison for payment technology and other cross functional teams within IT, Treasury / Finance, Marketing and Business
  • Provide governance and policy concepts related to Payments. Use the experience to create processes and policies and establish governance infrastructures.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business economics and /or Finance; MBA preferred
  • Several years’ corporate experience in a similar role leading the development and deployment of payments systems’ technology and infrastructure
  • In depth knowledge of payment processing eco-systems
  • Extensive experience and familiarity with payment instruments such as ACH / Funds Transfers, Credit/Debit Cards (including Chargebacks), alternative payment methods and their rules and regulations
  • Broad understanding and technical knowledge of Payment integration with POS solutions, Mobile and Cloud based technologies
  • Exceptional technical and non-technical presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust of team members and stakeholders; actively and productively participating with working teams; prior experience working with global teams across multiple languages and cultures
  • Proven ownership, execution and delivery accountability experience leading highly visible projects (proven knowledge of project management discipline)
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Capable to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to quickly adapt to rapidly evolving and changing business priorities, along with delivering programs leveraging technology and innovation
  • Knowledge/experience with tax and financial accounting policies and procedures (in particular related to e-commerce or online services) - expertise on SOX and PCI compliance related to payments would be preferred
  • Excellent computer literacy skills
  • Language skills: Fluent written and spoken English is essential
