The organisation

The company is a leading global provider of energy solutions based on advanced engineered turbine technology.

The position

The VP Global Sales leads a team of sales managers and applications engineers. He/She is responsible for growing revenue through the successful sales of the company's products and services. 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and execute the company's global sales strategy;
  • Develop and execute on a business plan to expand business into new and existing accounts/ markets throughout the world;
  • Drive growth and adoption of the company's products by the agent/ distributor network;
  • Accountable for attracting and retaining top talent. Mentor and coach team members, and manage performance;
  • Guide and manage the activities of the teams to ensure company revenue goals and objectives are exceeded;
  • Foster a collaborative and high performing environment for the team;
  • Manage the operational activities to ensure above quota results based on successful pipeline management and best practice sharing;
  • Balance short term sales priorities with longer term business development.

Candidate Profile

  • University degree (Master in Engineering or similar is essential);
  • 5-10 years of experience as a sales leader;
  • Experience in pro-actively selling capital equipment or advanced engineered products;
  • Well-developed network in the oil/gas, industry or waste sector;
  • Visionary executive with a proven track record of defining and delivering new initiatives;
  • Extensive international experience in managing and growing business in both developing and mature markets; Ideally having experienced international assignments as part of your career;
  • High level of enthusiasm, with strong influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Skillful collaboration and diplomacy to ensure smooth working relationships across (multicultural) teams;
  • Ability to think conceptually on the fly; Robust analytical skills and the ability to deliver on detail as well as strategy;
  • Self-motivated and creative;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Extensive international travel.
