The consultants implement operations strategy in the front line working alongside with the client, building long term capability. In the last 4 years, over 3,000 clients have been served.

The position

As a Lean Services consultant, you will contribute your knowledge of lean operations to client engagements as an active, full-time member of a consulting team while also providing other consulting teams with ad-hoc support as needed. You will also devote a significant share of your time to knowledge-building activities.

You will share your expertise and experience internationally with colleagues working in multiple sectors, thereby expanding McKinsey’s knowledge and expanding their knowledge and refining their approaches as well as your own expertise.

Candidate requirements

• Fluency in Dutch
• 5 to 12 years of work experience
• Academic degree with excellent results in a technical or business specialization
• Experience in planning and executing business performance transformations (e.g. comprehensive process optimization, lean management, lean production) through Six Sigma and/or other lean concepts in service industries (e.g. telecom, retail, healthcare, banking, financial services and insurance)
• Actively participated in a major organizational change within your company, such as a post-merger integration, outsourcing/off-shoring or a turnaround
• Strong knowledge, based on practical experience of lean operations, e.g. kaizen and flexible manpower systems, standardized work or Six Sigma tools as DMAIC and other problem solving approaches
• A Master Black Belt certification or equivalent is a strong plus
• Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to motivate and enthuse others
