Commodity Director

For a Multinational in Automotive, Transportation and Industrial Products.
The Commodity Director leads the global sourcing function for Castings (Iron and Aluminum) for TS and is responsible for developing and executing effective strategies which support TS WW manufacturing and distribution objectives.  Annual spend responsibility is ~$700 Million. This position will be based at one of the Company locations (in Switzerland, Eastern Europe, China, …).

Key position responsibilities for assigned commodities/sub-commodities:

  • Owns WW quality, cost, delivery and service performance objectives
  • Develops and executes WW sourcing strategies aligned to TS business and customer requirements
  • Reduces product costs through effective Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) processes
  • Negotiates and administers Long-Term Supply Agreements (LTAs)
  • Develops global supplier capabilities and increases Emerging Region expenditures
  • Builds deep industry and commodity expertise in staff
  • Works closely with other functions/SBGs/Corporate Supply Chain to ensure STRAP and AOP objectives are achieved

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years business/operational leadership industrial experiences, with minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain leadership roles
  • High-volume automotive industry experience strongly preferred
  • Professional certifications in supply chain, procurement, quality or related fields preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, Masters Degree preferred
