with a strong focus on e-business and digital marketing

The organisation

The client is a leading European producer, wholesaler and distributor of a wide range of consumer electronics and accessories (audio/video, cables and connectors, satellite accessories, security and home automation, energy, multimedia, home accessories, lighting). The organization was founded in 1982 and has its headquarters in 's-Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands). With approximately 350 employees, the company realizes an annual turnover of about 110 million Euros. The company has 13 fully sales offices in Europe.

The subsidiaries are managed by a Country Sales Manager. The headquarter in the Netherlands supports the European subsidiaries by general management, supply chain management, category management and international sales & marketing management, as well as by HR, finance & administration, ICT and quality management.

Since September 2012 the company is part of a Swiss stock listed holding company.

The position

The Head of Marketing leads the field-, segment-, marcom- and channel-marketing practice with strong focus on e-business and digital marketing (demand generation, leads nurturing, engagement and merchandizing) of the group. He will establish and coach the marketing team and leads a strong multichannel strategy with focus on leads generation, increased conversion, revenue development and improved customer experience across countries in close cooperation with sales. Further, he conducts integrated marketing communications across instruments and brands and improves and maintains brand awareness and public image.

The position has a strong focus on e-business and digital marketing. As unit head, you have managerial responsibility of up to 5 teams, with 25 specialists.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Campaign management: execute campaigns to generate demand and drive sales across channels by stage, segment, category, customer type, product or service
  • SEM (Search Engine Marketing): establish and develop search marketing discipline (paid/organic) to increase visibility & conversion, improve organic rankings across sites and countries
  • E-Mail-marketing: conduct targeted marketing automation based on triggers, behavior and sales cycle to increase number of qualified leads, sales conversion, reactivation and new & recurring revenue per sale/contact
  • Merchandising & recommendations: drive product placement and positioning, maximizing sales potential for each visitor (with category management)
  • Continuously optimize onsite search (synonyms, relevancy, no-hits, etc.)
  • Testing and targeting: increase usability and content relevance through multivariate and A/B tests, segmentation, targeting and automated personalization.
  • Mobile: provide for offering and transaction through emerging mobile devices
  • Digital assets: improve content relevancy and business results through cost-effective operations of 360° product photography and video production practice
  • Branding, CI/CD (Corporate Identity/Corporate Designs) & customer experience: sharpen brand value proposition and manage branding strategies, bring consistent brand promise alive through improved customer experience across all touch points of customer journey

Candidate profile

  • Significant expertise with leading e-commerce and digital marketing solutions
  • Strong business acumen and profound expertise in Digital Marketing
  • Several years of practical leadership experience in international e-business
  • Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to operate effectively within an international matrix organization
  • Degree in business administration with major in marketing, MBA a plus
  • Works proactive, cooperative and contribution oriented with quality awareness
  • Fluent in Dutch and English

Salary indication

The salary indication for this position is max. € 100.000, excluding variable bonuses.
