In EMEA and Asia Pacific the group employs approximately 1.200 people and has offices or manufacturing facilities across the region. Based in the prosperous Rhein-Neckar Metropolitan-area (Germany) we are now recruiting the Director of Water Marketing EMEA (m/f).

The position

The role of Director of Water Marketing - EMEA is part of a global marketing team to optimize and enhance the sale of the group´s products and solutions. This role will have overall responsibility for the complete EMEA product portfolio and marketing personnel. With proven and innovative leadership this role will design, implement and drive forward delivery of the strategic marketing plan and ensure alignment with regional goals by liaising with all relevant stakeholders and partners. In particular this role will ensure that the products and services are positioned and delivered, now and in the future, to provide complete solutions to the customers to meet their needs and the needs of the business. This role is to ensure effective design, and delivery of marketing strategies and solutions for the business.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead the product marketing solution to support the EMEA business
  • Managing the design and implementation of marketing plans product roadmaps and strategies; knowing how to manage and balance, cost, speed and quality in all initiatives implemented.
  • Leading, liaising, collaborating and networking with a range of stakeholders, e.g. customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations across the globe;
  • Manage the marketing team to ensure it is staffed with excellent talent.
  • Ensure the marketing team is properly trained, educated, mentored, motivated, and rewarded for delivering excellent results which meet the complete KPI's of the group and business.
  • Managing the marketing team in the production of marketing materials necessary to meet the needs of the market, customers and business.
  • Compile and provide analysis of the complete market, current customers and target customers.
  • Assess, select and execute the most appropriate events to optimize product awareness, placement and positioning within target markets including both internal and external events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions including interacting with customers, partners, and others from the energy community
  • Lead involvement in public relations activities, product collateral, design and production, distribution of materials, sponsorship activities, and research.
  • Sourcing and securing sponsorship opportunities;
  • Lead and ensure detailed competitive information is up to date and available for the business in a timely fashion.
  • Provide market reports and presentations to the group´s Management-team as necessary
  • Support the business as needed to ensure strategies and objectives are executed successfully.

Candidate profile

  • Masters Degree or Equivalent experience in Business or Marketing
  • Strong leadership, motivation and managerial skills
  • Demonstrable high integrity and ethical standards
  • Proven and substantial experience in a marketing role within a progressive business environment
  • Proven and substantial experience creating and delivering innovative high tech products involving complete hardware and software systems and solutions both from internal sources and with partners.
  • Experience in identifying, developing and implementing successful partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Experience in the utilities industry is desirable but not essential for this role, however candidates should have strong business background (and experience in the IT, Telecoms or Utility sectors would be beneficial)
  • Proven ability to meet budgets, deadlines and business requirements.
  • Demonstrated competency in competitive analysis, and market definition.
  • Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to quickly identify and solve problems
  • Fluent in German and English Language
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Team player who works energetically, productively and cordially with a wide range of internal and external contacts
  • Ability to communicate with and influence both up, across and down the organization and externally.
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • Experience of managing agencies and other external suppliers.
  • Experience of European markets either through a company centralised marketing team or agency
  • Excellent overall presentation skills
  • Expert experience in negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Flexibility towards, working times, locations and hours
  • Support to other group´s opportunities globally
  • International travel as required
