AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints (DP) brands are popular with consumers and business users worldwide. Key to DP’s success are forward thinking digital communications and campaigns created by the Digital Ecommerce team that encompasses Ecommerce, Search, Web and Content.

The position

A central integration and customer experience role for an effective senior digital and Ecommerce marketeer.

Within this context, your mission in this role is to optimize the online journey and experience for our customers. In doing so you ensure the best practice integration of digital media and channels into global Consumer and Specialty brand strategies, execution plans and end-to-end customer experiences. The role is based at our headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Tasks & responsibilities

In order to achieve your key objectives you develop and execute a roadmap of digital traffic-driving repeatable models (search, content, social), branded digital assets and integrated experiences appropriate to paint consumers (e.g. websites, apps, in-store, CRM etc.). 

Further, you coordinate all digital team projects, activities and communications in support of Consumer and Speciality Brands. You also develop customer data research, analytics and insights to drive decision-making.

At all times you stay up-to-date with consumer brand and market knowledge via ongoing collaboration and contact with Global Consumer and Specialty Brand teams – attending all team meetings. In this way you are able to represent these stakeholders in digital strategy and framework development.

It is essential that you secure a thorough understanding of the external players and competition dynamics, staying on top of all latest developments and translating them into successful commercial proposals. You should therefore have an excellent network in the industry.

Candidate profile

To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing, communication or a related field
  • 10+ years in a senior digital marketing role
  • Experience of working with brand marketers to deliver digital campaigns and initiatives
  • Knowledge and experience of the decorative paints market and professional (trade) customer segmentation is a significant advantage
  • A high level of written and spoken English
