Senior Financial Controller

The organisation

Our client is a rapidly expanding, global organization specialized in fiduciary services, fund administration and other financial services on behalf of multinational companies, private equity and real estate firms, private investors and/or their advisors.

Within our client''s Corporate and Trust division, the Real Estate Investment Funds business line has been set up to specifically cater for the needs of clients in these sectors. The business line has been developing at rapid pace and we are working to consolidate our leading position in this market.

The position

• preparing monthly/quarterly/annually closings
• consolidations management, timely reporting and financial statements in German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS
• delivering management accounting support-including forecasting/budgeting and ad-hoc analyses
• managing statutory audit programs with external auditors
• coordinating and monitoring accounting and tax compliance obligations
• providing project management and accounting support on real estate transactions
• coordinating liquidity management
• acting as an operational "go-to" persons for clients regarding accounting queries
• developing and improving accounting processes and systems

Candidate profile:

• completed Bachelor- and/or Masters-degree with focus on accounting/finance or equivalent;
• profound knowledge of German and international GAAP (HGB and IFRS) and statutory reporting;
• 5 years plus of relevant experience;
• first experience with real estate industry and fund administration are a plus;
• highly organized and detail orientated with a client focus;
• very good communication, presentation and team management skills;
• eager to be part of a dynamic, internationally orientated financial services company, that has operated for over 60 years;
• fluency in verbal and written English is essential, German language skills required, other European languages will be an advantage;
• expectation of some travel;
• a working knowledge of REIF accounting and property management systems, preferably Yardi or MRI.
