The position

To execute activities related to, dredging, reclamation, civil marine projects and subcontracted works within deadline and budget available. Ensure high quality, safety and environmental standards.

Focus on the employers business priorities while meeting customer demands.

Reporting to the Chief Project Officer/PDM

Supervises Works Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents/Rockworks Managers, Projects Engineer, Project Planner, Projects Controller, Surveyors, HSE,  Contracts, Finance (operationally)

Expected relationships with other departments

Clients, Governmental Dept. and Consultant, Technical Department, Purchasing Division, HR Department, HSE & Engineering Department, Commercial department, Finance, IT Department, HR Division

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage and be accountable for a specific project or a number of projects.
  • Develop detailed project planning based on tender requirements and project contract in close collaboration with all related departments.
  • Manage and monitor budget of responsible project(s) and provide Head of Department with weekly progress reports and monthly budgeting, planning and financial reports.
  • Ensure optimal functioning of Company equipment’s in cooperation and consultation with the Technical department.
  • Analyze all the reports delivered by project teams. Assess performance and efficiency improvement activities and identify risks and appropriate mitigations.
  • Make well informed decisions for the project that are in best interest of the client and Company. Approve the purchase of project related items.
  • Decide in agreement with Estimating and Engineering Division on sub-contractor policies, restrictions, risks and activities.
  • Monitor daily report of the project running equipment and ensure the optimal efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and guidance towards Works Managers and other project team members.
  • Ensure cooperation between project team members and a smooth data information transfer to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cooperate constructively, efficiently and effectively with Technical-, Commercial-, Estimation & Operational Advisory departments.

  • Coordinate and execute the yearly performance evaluation process for the works manager and superintendents and ensure that the yearly performance evaluation process for the subordinates is executed.

Candidate profile

  • Engineering bachelor/ master degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Environment techniques is an asset.
  • STCW certification
  • 12 years excellent experience in project performance analysis.
  • Extensive track record of management projects.
  • General knowledge of contracting methods and contracting administration.
  • Knowledge of project budget control
  • Capability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Dredging, Marine Construction
  • English in verbal and writing, Arabic preferred
  • Any other language is an asset
  • Act as a role model in the division.
  • Be able to manage personnel with different cultural backgrounds.
