The organisation

Our client is a Financial Services Company that specialises in multi-currency payments, VAT refunds and Credit Card Processing. For almost 30 years our client has been an industry pioneer, providing the best in payment services to overseas visitors, international retail groups and banks.

Our client employs nearly 600 in our Worldwide Operations spanning over 29 countries and is headquartered in Galway, Ireland. It has Regional Offices in all major European cities, Mexico and Singapore.

The position

Sales

  • Lead the tax free and DCC sales activity within the Country including targeting, planning, negotiation, retention and development. Ensure that all plans are consistent with International Key Account plans and overall Country budget
  • Develop annual, monthly and weekly sales plans for International and National Key Account Sales Managers, Managed Account Sales staff and DCC Sales staff, against an agreed prospect target list
  • Ensure that sales staff get the required support from key Group Functions in the development of presentations and meetings with new prospects
  • Actively assist sales staff in the negotiation of new commercial agreements, coordinating their execution with the relevant Group functions, where required
  • Allocate all existing retailers to Retention and Development Managers and ensure that an Account Plan is developed and regularly reviewed for each key retailer with specific objectives and actions
  • Lead the continuous development of all sales staff (hunters and farmers) to ensure that they fully versed in our full product range, can negotiate effectively and follow up on agreed actions in a timely manner
  • Ensure that the Group performance management policies and procedures are implemented and that all sales and retention and development staff are clearly incentivised

Partners

  • Manage and, where necessary, develop strong working relationships with major POS providers, till operators, acquirers, financial institutions, regulators, independent sales organisations, tour group operators and any other organisations that can beneficially impact our business.
  • Ensure that these relationships are managed in conjunction with the Head of Partnerships.
  • Manage and implement the Group refund strategy and liaise with the appropriate Refund function staff to recruit and train quality, strategically placed refund partners
  • Keep abreast of all competitor activity and market place opportunities to ensure that the Company remains competitive and ahead of the game in all aspects of the Tax-Free and DCC markets

Team management

  • Develop the annual budgets for the Profit Centre alongside the Financial Controller and ensure full compliance with all Finance and Group reporting requirements
  • Take full responsibility for the country budget and ensure all costs are kept within agreed budgetary limits and are competitive with local suppliers
  • Manage in-country functional resources and liaise regularly with other Group level staff to ensure all Profit Centre staff are operating and complying within the policies and procedures applicable
  • Ensure that teams in each country are fully trained and that good communication is in place
  • Manage all legal issues such including local employment law, statute VAT regulation law and ensure all Retailers and Refund Network points comply with the regulatory requirements as set out by the Group internal policy and procedures
  • Participate in the Company's Performance Management System and ensure full compliance with all policies and procedures, reporting systems and Company Values at all times

Candidate profile

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven track record of leading high achieving sales teams
  • Conversant with sales administration process and CRM systems
  • Knowledge of latest sales techniques and developing/managing sales pipelines
  • Networked and customer focused

Skills

  • Fluent written and spoken English in additional to native language
  • Willing to take responsibility and able to make commercial decisions
  • Results focused
  • Enjoy working in a changing environment and tolerate a degree of ambiguity
  • Willing to travel on a national and international basis
  • Numerate
  • Fully proficient in MS Office
  • Confident communicator, presenter and relationship builder
  • Knowledge of luxury retailing and technology systems within Retail desirable
