The organisation

Our client is an international organization operating in the fields of Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical as well as Chemical. We are currently looking for an Head of Procurement (m/f) Germany. This announcement offers a challenging leadership role.

The position

  • Overall responsibility for the Procurement division in Germany
  • Within this role you are responsible for the development of a long-term sourcing strategy for the company in Germany and its implementation to ensure the company's sourcing needs are met in the most cost-effective manner.
  • You oversee the implementation of complex, strategic regional or global sourcing solutions and ensure that sourcing and procurement strategies are aligned to corporate strategy. This includes strategic planning, relationship management and reviews of existing supplier arrangements for the German organization.
  • You will handle complex management issues and provide guidance to more junior staff on sourcing related issues
  • You are line manager of the procurement team and report directly to the Head of Procurement Europe

Candidate profile

  • Academic degree in a relevant field (preferably economics)
  • Extensive work experience in procurement
  • Ideally you have gained experience in a consulting agency in the field of procurement
  • Expertise in leading complex procurement projects and especially in the implementation of strategic sourcing tools
  • On a personal level you can convince us through deep analytical skills and a conceptual mindset as well as the ability to think strategically
  • This function requires excellent negotiating skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as a confident attitude and a self-assured manner
  • Being fluent in German as well as English completes your profile
