Our client is leading in its business area in Europe and is expanding its business services. We are searching a heavy-weight Programme Manager that has delivered complex technical and operational programmes in a multi-national environment. The ideal candidate comes e.g. from a consulting or system integrator background and had to deal with business process, organisation and technology change on a series of programmes over many years. Someone who has dealt with complex data migration as part of implementation would be of particular interest.

Position

Key areas and principal tasks:

As a Programme Manager at our client you have a key business role and report to the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Programmes who are based in London. You are responsible for inception, leadership and delivery of the strategic programmes including organisational, technical and commercial elements.
The holder of the position is responsible for the budgeting, forecasting and management of the assigned programme.
Role highlights include:

• Responsible for the planning and management of a complex organisational change programms, including organisational change, service management, technical and commercial elements
• Leading, directing and motivating programme teams and project managers to work together to meet objectives and deliver successful project outcomes on time and to budget
• Responsible for effective programme and workstream planning, management and reporting in accordance with group policies and guidelines
• Creating strong relationships with external customers and stakeholders as well as internal stakeholders at all levels
• There will be regular international travel

This is a senior position reporting to the CTO (for strategic guidance) and Head of Programmes (for programme resourcing and reporting), with a clear mandate to drive the programme to successful business delivery.
The role requires strong leadership of resources seconded to the programme, such as stream project managers, business experts and technical experts. These resources are likely to be supplied from both within the group and the customer organization.

The role holder will have direct budget responsibility for the change programme.

Profil

Strong leadership and influencing skills. Team oriented, consensus based approach, but not afraid to take difficult decisions and lead a group through challenges, providing clear direction.
Able to work at a strategic and operational level, able to work on the details and write things down where appropriate e.g. plans, requirements, decisions, processes. Organised with a structured approach as expected at Senior Programme Management level. Self-motivated.
Leads by example, building a following and respect through demonstration of best practice and good decisions.

• Specialist demonstrable experience in establishing and running large, world-class change prorammes in complex multi-national businesses
• Practical Programme and Project Management delivery experience of large complex multi-stakeholder or international business change
• Familiar with working in matrix organisations
• Experience of Managed Services/Professional Services programme delivery is considered highly important to this role
• Demonstrable experience of senior stakeholder management at Board level
• Multi-million Euro programme budget experience
• Experience of programme management in Germany
• Fluent in English and German
